CODE CONNECTS<\/h2>\r\n Exposition collective<\/span>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

<\/p>\n

In the 21st century, we all realize that we belong to a global
\ncommunity and socialize mostly in an urban landscape. This has
\nbeen the natural outcome of the advance of technology and
\ntransportation, taking place since the end of the previous century.
\nAs a result, multinational companies, their products and ads have
\npropagated this global civilization, using the letters as an urban
\nvisual puzzle of codes, connecting different cultures, religions and
\npolicies.
\nSince the beginning of human writing activity, what games has the
\nletter initiated! Take a letter: you will see its secret getting deeper
\nin its infinite associations, where you will find everything, the whole
\nworld: its history and yours. (Roland Barthes, 2006).
\nIn the project CODE CONNECTS, artists with different backgrounds
\nwill visualize artistically all this urban translanguaging, symbols of
\nwriting, bar codes, numbers and other types of texting. Citizens
\ndaily undergo this plethora of information and writing form in their
\ncityscape proximity. To show this text diversity, artists will use
\nartistic medium and tool diversity , too. CODE CONNECTS aspires to
\nbe a platform that raises the voice of freedom, peace and fraternity.
\nThe code of letters, as a basic means of communication, is found in
\nthe essence of human existence and thus it gives this project a
\nunique importance. The artists express themselves freely,
\ncommenting on the urban society and thus take a political stance.
\nCODE CONNECTS a potentially divided world and makes it a more
\nsustainable living space. A space where all identities find their place
\nand inner peace.<\/p>\n
